Including today's, faulty sensors have triggered at least eight unique evacuation instances at the high school since 2021. Students and staff emptied the building twice within 30 minutes today, then remained indoors as the alarm sounded three more times.

Costumed students do battle in the parking lot as classmates gather for Halloween fun. The district’s school observations of the holiday ended in 2021, a decision in line with national trends. Schools throughout the country have elminated Halloween and Valentine’s Day celebrations, which violate some religious beliefs, Concern about excluding students who cannot afford to participate also informs such decisions.
