In the lower right corner, a photo of English teacher Chris Cotton’s hand-drawn plan for diagonal parking on the oval. After hearing complaints from senior students about costly tickets, Cotton created this plan to increase the number of parking spaces available to students and visitors. The plan would employ diagonal, rather than parallel parking around the Oval. Cotton submitted the plan to Superintendent David Glasner in 2024. The district stated that the cost of widening the street is prohibitive.
Senior Arabella Kielbasa supports Cotton’s idea. “I vote yes! I think this is a good idea. We need more parking, and I think this could help with the idea of senior parking,” she said. Senior Sofija
Sullivan agreed. “I don’t think it’s something I or anyone else has thought of yet,” she said.
